Channel Swim Relay 2020 · 27 June 2020

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

So here I am with a place on a team of six, set to swim the Channel in 2020!

A lifetime ambition and the ultimate goal for any swimmer.

I am however, very lucky that I am able to take part in this challenge. I can swim where I want, when I want. It is not so for many people. Every four hours someone is paralysed by spinal cord injury. It could happen to anyone at any time. Aspire Charity give practical help to people who have been affected to support them from injury to independence.

Swimming plays a huge part in rehabilitation for it's physical and mental benefits.

Please help me to help this charity and their invaluable work. All costs for the swim have been met by me so all donations go directly to Aspire.

I will be posting progress on FB! It will be a wee blog about training which starts now....daily swims in the North Sea, no wetsuits allowed, strict pool training, no make up , no wine so if you want a laugh please follow my page!
