Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Between 3rd-6th October, 6 members of 35 Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Search) will be taking on one of the world’s toughest open water swimming challenges. Swimming the channel as a relay. Each swimmer will take it in turn to swim the channel for an hour in rotation, until the team reaches France.
For a swim to be officially recognised, you cannot wear a wetsuit! In fact, the only equipment you are allowed is a swimming hat, goggles, a nose clip, ear plugs and your costume. The official distance of the Channel is 21 miles. However, this changes according to the tides.
We have decided to raise money for Home-Start in Suffolk which is the county's largest family support charity.
Their vision is that every child in Suffolk is given the best start in life because of the love, support and guidance they receive from their parents, guardians or the people performing the role of their parents.
Any support you can offer is greatly appreciated!
