On this Giving Day, we are aiming to raise $5,000 to help with one of three projects that we are pursuing on Champlain College’s Dublin, Ireland campus.
About the Dublin Program and Campus
Champlain College’s Dublin Campus was established in 2008 for our students to spend a semester in Ireland for a program of rigorous academics, professional opportunities, personal growth, and social and cultural learning. The Dublin campus has hosted over 1,000 students since 2008, and has facilitated hundreds of internship and service learning opportunities for its students. This is not a normal semester by any means, as we make extensive use of the city of Dublin as a learning environment. Classes often take place in galleries and museums, at historic sites, on visits to multinational companies, or on field trips in the city or around the country. Faculty are locally-hired, so students get to learn from the best of Irish academics and industry professionals. Weekend field trips get the students out of the city to see the famous Irish countryside and historic sites. Champlain’s Dublin campus has forged close social and cultural ties to the Liberties community, the inner city area where the students reside. The Dublin campus staff pride themselves in providing a supportive abroad program to students, all while immersing them in all that Ireland has to offer.
