Challenge 2023 · 1 January 2023

With the addition of new volunteer doctors to the crew, BEEP Doctors (BASICS) Cumbria, need to raise money to provide vital equipment for them to use on call outs.

Story

We are a group of family and friends who are running 100km (in the winter) over 59 days (Jan 1st to Feb 28th) to raise money for the fantastic BEEP doctors who volunteer there time 24/7 365  days of the year.

Whether you live in Cumbria or come to visit if you need them they are there!

I hope you never do but having needed them ourselves they are vital for our emergency medical needs.

We are not all runners so please get behind us to keep us going!!

Beep (BASICS) Cumbria is a charity, which brings emergency medical care to the patient. Whether that is on the roadside at the scene of a road traffic accident or in your home during a life-threatening emergency. The team of volunteer doctors are on call 24 hours 7 days a week to provide enhanced clinical care in medical emergencies. During 2020 the team of dedicated doctors attended a total of 203 emergency callouts across Cumbria, from as far north as Longtown, to Egremont in the west, Millom in the south and up to Nenthead in the east. They receive no funding from the NHS, so we want to do our part to help them raise money for vital life-saving equipment and help save more lives across Cumbria.
