Running 105 miles (that's four cross-country marathons), climbing 1,800 meters in altitude across the unforgiving cornish coastal path in just 6 days...challenge accepted.
Despite being long-distance running novices, this September (19th-24th) Rick and Aran will take on the toughest challenge they've ever attempted.
Starting in Newquay, going via Land's End and finishing at the Lizard (the southernmost point of the UK), we've conceived a 105-mile behemoth of a Cornish coastal challenge. The route will see them cover a huge section of the quad-burning, ankle-rolling, lung-busting Cornish South West Coastal path, featuring rocks, cliffs, sandy beaches, yet more cliffs, and the onslaught of Cornwall's typically temperamental weather.
The scenery will be beautiful - but the distance will be brutal, the climbs unforgiving and the weather likely grim. And no matter how bad it gets, for six days we'll have to get up the next morning and do it all again. View our route here: https://onthegomap.com/s/rslmgjki
We are attempting this epic challenge to raise money for the Matt Hampson Foundation. This charity helps young people who have suffered life-changing injuries while playing sport. This includes medically and physically supporting the rehabilitation of those who have suffered serious injuries, spinal cord injuries and been left with disabilities, as well as working with young people to help them regain their mobility, independence and confidence. Between us we play lacrosse, ride horses and fling ourselves down mountains on bikes and skis - so we're all too aware of how devastating a life-changing sports injury could be.
Please help us help others get the support they need to live their lives to the full. All sponsorship will be gratefully received and donated to the Matt Hampson Foundation (https://www.matthampsonfoundation.org/about-us/).
