Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Charlie, I'm nine years old and I live in Bromley.
I have spinal muscular atrophy which means I have weak muscles and I can't walk.
I use a wheelchair to get around but I have outgrown the one that I use at the moment.
I can't sit in it for very long and so I have to use an NHS chair which stops me getting very far.
My mum and dad are trying to get me a new powered wheelchair so that I can get around my school properly when I go back in September.
My mum says a new wheelchair would let me take part in things at home and at school.
Although I love my PlayStation and lots of other games I really love going to the cinema to watch superhero films especially Batman and Lego.
Without a better chair I've had to stay in more and I'm missing out on my films.
But the powerchair that mum and dad were told would suit me best costs a massive £24,421, which is too much for them.
But they really want me to have it because it will be good for my posture and I'd also be able to stay out for the whole day.
It would also fit under tables in restaurants, and other places, so we could do more as a family.
Caudwell Children, the national charity that helps disabled children are giving us fundraising support.
They have told mum and dad that they will raise 80% of the cost of the chair so they've set up this Just Giving page for me.
They've also contacted other Trusts and funding agencies to raise the money .
But I want other people and maybe businesses to help me to hit my fundraising target.
I know it’s an awful lot of money but with their support they can make my life so much better.
Thank you!
