Story
The war in Ukraine have wrought devastating consequences for children at a scale and speed not seen since World War II. Three million children inside Ukraine, and more than 2.2 million children in refugee-hosting countries, are now in need of humanitarian assistance.
Humanitarian needs are multiplying by the hour as the fighting continues. Children continue to be killed, wounded and deeply traumatized by the violence all around them. Families are terrified, in shock, and desperate for safety.
In the Ukraine, UNICEF and partners have:
- Distributed life-saving health and medical supplies for nearly 2.1 million children and families in war-affected areas.
- Reached 6,500 vulnerable households, including children with disabilities or three or more children, with multi-purpose cash assistance.
- Helped more than 2.1 million people access safe water in areas where networks have been damaged or destroyed.
- Helped more than 288,000 children through the provision of learning supplies.
- Assisted 52,000 children through case management and referral services.
With your help, they can continue to do this.
