More than 6 million people have fled Ukraine and another 7 million have left their homes to escape the conflict, leading to a huge humanitarian crisis.
Heavy fighting, shelling and air strikes across the country have had devastating consequences for civilians.
Homes have been destroyed.
Families have been separated.
Lives have been lost.
Millions of refugees have fled to Poland, Romania, Hungary and Moldova, often arriving with only what they could carry. In Ukraine, those who are unable to leave due to age or disability find themselves isolated, without access to food and basic necessities.
DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.
