We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2017, my wonderful Grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimers. The next 5 years before her death in October 2022 were challenging, cruel, and painful. Whilst we did have some lovely memories during this time, as a family we had to watch as Alzheimers slowly hid this brilliant woman from us.

I've been lucky enough to have been offered a place to run London Marathon 2022 in memory of my Grandma, Heather Smith, and I'm fundraising for Alzheimers UK in the hopes that, at some point in the future, no more families have to tread this sad and difficult path.

Any donations you are able to offer will be most gratefully received - ARUK's work isn’t possible without donations from amazing supporters like you, and by donating to Alzheimer’s Research UK you’re funding pioneering research to change the lives of people with dementia and their families.
