100 miles in March to support DadshouseUK, 1 March 2021
We are supporting families through our foodbank and other activities. We have helped over 20,000 families in West London and provided 500,000+ meals, thanks to wonderful support. But we need your help to continue providing life-changing services.

Story

During the year of 2013 my parents split up, and my dad became mine and my siblings primary carer. My dad has always gone above and beyond for my siblings and I, and now its time to help support the other dads!

Often it is found that single dads are regarded and treated differently to others. From my experience of the last 9 years living with my dad, this is not a fair realisation. Single dads (and single moms) work hard to cater for and provide for their children and the effort and love each and every one has is admirable. My dad has been working together with Dads House UK to raise awareness for the treatment that single dads receive and to support all those single dads that need it. Now that I'm getting older, I am beginning to understand better what it is that Dads House Uk does, and now is my turn to give back to the charity that gave my family hope.

My dad has always taught me to be kind and give to those who need it. He has this silly saying that 'it's just money' that he says, but we both know that 'just money' can mean the world to someone who needs it! So whether you want to donate £0.01 or £10 everything is appreciated.

The work of Dads House UK is important now more than ever, as the charity continues to support families during the lockdown through foodbanks, etc.

For more information about Dads House, please visit the website and see below: William McGranaghan founded Dads House in 2008 aiming to offer support to single fathers, most recently through the launch of its new project HOFF (Homes For Fathers and Families) which aims to provide accommodation and support, for fathers looking after children. The groups food bank operations have thus far supported over 30 families, as well as residents aged 90 and over who are self-isolating. William was voted one of the Most Influential Dads of the Year, in 2009 on the Trisha Goddard Show and has made numerous other TV and radio appearances, including a collaboration with the BBC who filmed a special episode on his Dads House Football Evenings.
