We are doing 30 things throughout June to support Parkinson's Disease research at the University of Sheffield. Our researchers are leading the way in developing personalised treatments for Parkinson's Disease.

Story

I have set myself a challenge that, frankly, is a bit daunting - cycling 300 miles throughout the month of June and in the process, ascending 30,000 feet. And those damn Peaks just go up and up so with my knackered knee it could be make or break :(.

My wonderful father, Peter, suffered from Parkinson’s, as did my grandfather, Billo.  Two more people are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease every hour - that's 18,000 people every year. Causing a huge loss of physical movement and uncontrollable tremors, the disease will affect 145,000 people in the UK alone in 2020.

The incredible team at the University of Sheffield, led by Prof Oliver Bandmann and Dr Heather Mortiboys, are leading the way in developing new treatments for Parkinson's Disease. Every penny you donate will go towards their research. Please support me - honestly, it’s going to be hard!
