Story
Otto was born on 3rd September 2022. Two weeks later he was rushed into hospital after multiple seizures and induced into a coma. Following many tests, Otto was diagnosed with a rare genetic metabolic mitochondrial condition, affecting just a handful of children worldwide.
Otto lived a happy life full of love. At just over four months old, Otto made his way to heaven. He passed away peacefully on 24th January 2023, being doted on with love and kisses and he has forever changed the course of our lives.
Otto is missed for eternity but loved beyond measure, it is my biggest privilege to be his Auntie and he’s an adored baby cousin of Osca, Betsi and Nansi. Otto taught us, and continues to remind us, that life is a privilege and a blessing and we have to make the most of every day. In his memory I have decided to undertake a huge perosnal challenge and run a marathon, I am by no means a runner - quite the opposite in fact (!!) but I am determined to achieve this for beautiful baby Otto.
Running the London Marathon will be the biggest physical challenge I have ever undertaken and I am dedicated to raising vital funds for The Lily Foundation. I just hope I can do him proud 🤍
The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.Did you know every day in the UK a baby is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting. Please stand with us and fight Mitochondrial Disease and fight for hope.I am running 26.2 miles ...... please donate if you can.
