Story
We did it! I walked the 22 mile - Battersea bridge to Hampton Court - leg of the "Walk the Thames" event on Sunday February 21st to raise much needed funds for the Mary Ward Legal Centre. The Legal Centre, which is part of the Mary Ward Settlement, really makes a difference to the lives of many people in London. We'll continue to keep our fundraising pages open for the period (Mary Ward Trustees and Linklaters also have pages for the same cause, and we are on our way together to raising over £18,000). The service prevents homelessness, reduces poverty and debt, challenges discrimination and combats exploitation. The need for these services has grown rapidly over the past 18 months but funding has not. So they need your help. All funds received by LLST from this page will be donated to the Mary Ward Centre legal advice service without deduction. So please either forward this to anyone you think might want to donate and/or dig deep and donate now. Thanks too to offline donors Lynn Sedgemore, Ann McMorrow and others. Thank you. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
