We are raising funds to enhance facilities for our new Breast Care Unit to be built at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr in 2023 providing a sensitive design and decor to create a calm, comfortable and dignified environment to support our patients.

Story

A new £10.2 million Centre of Excellence for Breast Care Services is due to be built in 2022 at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Ystrad Mynach, bringing together a range of services for breast cancer patients, which are currently spread across three sites with the Health Board. This centre will provide evidence based services, providing the best clinical outcomes comprising of dedicated diagnostic, treatment and counselling rooms that will enable faster diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care. While this new facility is being funded by Welsh Government, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has set up a fundraising campaign to provide those additional amenities to ensure that our breast care patients, both male and female, are provided with an environment sensitive by design and décor to create a comfortable and dignified area where they and their families can come to terms with their diagnosis and treatment. Our aim is to raise £200,000 and we are almost there but because of Covid-19 restriction
