Story
Rehabilitation Through Adventure’ offers wounded, injured and sick (WIS) current and ex-servicemen and women the opportunity to participate in challenging, unique and arduous expeditions which has significant benefits. Their achievements and experiences will change their lives for the better, aid and enhance their recovery and, equally importantly, will enable them to inspire others. Through their own adventurous experience they will acquire the confidence, desire and motivation to make a real difference to those who have been damaged in combat. Following their experiences with 65DN, they will endeavour to inspire others to challenge themselves, test their limits and follow their dreams, which is the legacy of 65 Degrees North
In September 2019 a group of wounded, injured, sick service personnel and I will attempt to cycle over the highest Mountains in the Pyrenees through three countries: France, Andorra and Spain. Starting in the small mountain town of Luchon, which sits in the middle of the Pyrenees, the team will cycle for six very hard days covering 600km.
We are aiming to raise money for The Royal Marines Charity.
The Royal Marines Charity seek to support our wounded and injured in anyway they can. They also seek to improve the quality of life for each and every Royal Marine, and continue this support long after our people have severed their formal links to the Corps.
The RMC aim to provide the best possible through life charitable support for the Royal Marines, their families, veterans, and cadets.
The Royal Marines Charity is a unified and integrated charity for the Royal Marines extended Corps family, where cadets, the serving Corps, veterans, and families are supported through life with benevolence, comradeship, transition support and amenities, underpinned with a cohesive sense of heritage and esprit de corps.
Every penny will make a difference, so any donation would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you and wish me luck!
