Twice as Long, Twice as Hard - to raise twice as much!

Well - after an awesome fundraiser for the Liverpool 1/2 Marathon last year, I thought, "Why not go and make it twice as far and get twice as much sponsorship!"....

Why Liverpool Cathedral Organ?

Many may argue that there are many more pertinent charities (e.g. Cancer Research etc) to be raising money for.  In which case - I will be doing Chester Marathon later this year...!  However, my personal links to Liverpool Cathedral, its music and organ are strong and have been a part of my life for 13 years now.  The organ is in need of mainetnance and repair to ensure that this world-famous instrument serves many generations to come. 

Why a marathon?

Those that knew me 18 months ago would laugh if I had told them I was running a 1/2 marathon.. yet alone a full marathon!  Overweight and unfit, I started running in August 2011 weighing in at 17.5 stone and a 44" waist.  Since then I have found so much motivation in running to keep fit, that I decided that I would use it as a way to help local and national charities through fundraising.  This started with the Liverpool 1/2 Marathon in 2012, raising over £1,500 for the Organ Appeal.  This year as I am fitter and stronger, I want to complete 2 marathons.  The first is Manchester and I will be using this for the Organ Fund.  The second will hopefully be Chester.
