Story
Welcome, and thanks for visiting our Team page, we are all serving
reservists with A Company 6 Rifles and feel passionately about helping our fellow service personnel either those still serving or veterans.
Starting on Saturday 22nd July the team will relay race a 9-km route for
a massive 24-hours by taking part in the 100mile run (http://www.100milerun.com), by pushing
the boundaries both mentally and physically we hope to raise huge sums of money for a hugely important, and sadly a much-needed organisation.
Richard left the Regular Army in 2012 after 12 years' service as a Sergeant in the Black Watch he served on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. in 2016, he re-enlisted as a reservist joining A Company 6 Rifles. In the past, previously Richard has cycled JoG to LE and from Italy to Edinburgh to raise in excess of £28,000 for service charities.
“There is a sense of brotherhood when it comes to helping those who are in real need and this is amplified when it comes to military service. It’s only time for me and I can’t think of a better way to spend it than to support my former military colleagues”
Katy was inspired to join 6 Rifles a year ago after becoming a finalist
in the BBC series Special Forces: Ultimate Hell Week. Outside the Reserves she works in Expedition filmmaking which has included making a film on trekking an entire 400km mountain range in Bulgaria. She is currently in training for a marathon over Dartmoor and OMM later this year.
William joined A Company 6 Rifles while studying Geography at the
The University of Bristol. His passion includes adventure, sports and any form of challenge. To date, he has completed the 800km pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, walked 600km across Iceland, cycled 5000km from Canterbury to Jerusalem and attempted to retrace Genghis Khan’s longest invasion route from Mongolia to Georgia. Throughout such adventures, he has raised £12,000 for the Charity Mary’s Meals.
