London South Bank University students working with the Institute of Directors to support Centrepoint in helping give homeless young people a future

Story

My team are taking part in the £10 challenge with LSBU and the Institute of Directors to raise money for Centrepoint. Centrepoint is the UKs leading youth homelessness charity, supporting more than 15,000 homeless 16-25 year olds every year. Their aim is to ensure that every young person leaves Centrepoint with skills, a job and a home of their own. Centrepoint research estimates 103,000 young people in the UK asked for help from their local council in 2017/18 because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness, with many of these young people experiencing hidden homelessness through means of sleeping on friends sofas or floors, with strangers, in stairwells, or night buses. Centrepoint aims to help homeless young people build independent living skills, maintain good physical and mental health, and gain the skills and experience to re-engage with education, training and work.
