We fund life-saving research to help cancer patients everywhere.

Story

In May, Phoebe and I (and some wonderful friends) are running the Hackney Half on behalf of our incredible mum.

As some of you know, mum received a shock advanced ovarian cancer diagnosis in September. She had just retired and was about to move to Switzerland - and went from an alpine walking, tortoise-mad wonderwoman to someone who was very unwell overnight.

It was a searing reminder that life is random and our family felt crushed. Unsurprisingly, mum was strong and resilient throughout this terrible time - and in her classic manner, made multiple new mates during her five week stint in hospital.

The Royal Marsden is a fantastic place. Its reputation for cancer care is unparalleled and staff went above and beyond to provide round the clock care for mum after her surgery. They do their utmost to make her feel comfortable and happy... including adding baubles to her pre-Christmas chemo drip.

We want to raise money for the Marsden so other people (and their families) can experience this outstanding level of treatment and compassion.

We love you AJ!
