Story
Simon was a much loved husband, father and friend. Although he usually preferred low key celebrations for birthdays, his diagnosis on 12 November 2011 prompted him to request a party for the BIG 60 on 19 February 2013 - he just wanted to live long enough to share it with his closest friends and family.
Sadly Simon passed away on 26 March 2012 aged 59 and therefore never got to fulfill his wish for a 60th birthday bash.
The family have decided to go ahead with his wish and are planning a party in his memory which, far from being morbid, will be a celebration of his life and all that he enjoyed i.e. live music, food and (of course) plenty of alcohol.
Many of you know that we set ourselves a target to raise £6000 for East Cheshire Hospice who made the last weeks of Simon's life comfortable and dignified. The Cartwright Team have, with the help of all our friends, raised over £12000 so are now to raising the bar (pardon the pun) to reach an amazing £15000 before the anniversary of his death.
The date is set for 7.30 PM on Saturday 23 February 2012 at Marthall Village Hall (The Hall at Marthall, Sandlebridge Lane, Marthall, Knutsford, WA16 7SB). We are asking for a minimum dontation of £15 per person for the Hospice; hot food and a drink from the bar will be provided on the night at no extra cost. There will be a live band, disco, raffle and a cheap bar. ALL the proceeds from the bar, tickets and raffle will be donated to the charity.
So now all there is to say is a MASSIVE thank you for taking your time to visit the fundraising page and for any donations you make we will be grateful.
Now get your glad rags on and put the date in your diaries as this will be one event you do NOT want to miss.
