I am a gastroenterologist working out of Dartmouth General Hospital. I am a part of the Nova Scotia provincial screening program and I have a strong family history of colon cancer. This is personal for me. This year, funds raised will support the Dartmouth General Hospital to purchase innovative equipment and technology to aid in early detection such as the GI Genius. This is technology uses artificial intelligence to assist in the detection of  polyps during colonoscopy. Funds raised through GUT will support advancing colorectal screening capacity, and research opportunities and with ensure that Dartmouth General Hospital and Nova Scotia remain at the forefront of colon cancer screening.
