Story
I am part of a team of five running to raise money for the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre (CCHC). Their wonderful work was championed by the late David Rayner who sadly passed away in January. It was his vision in 2008 that saw the building of the purpose built David Rayner Centre in the grounds of his much loved local garden centre in Shelford, which remains the home of the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre today. Since then many hundreds of local families have visited the Centre for support, complementary therapy, information and friendship.
As a volunteer therapist at the Centre for the past 10 years I know how great the need is for the charity’s support programme. It is a special, welcoming and reassuring place which brings comfort to many, and where people may arrive in tears and leave with a smile.
The Centre entirely on voluntary donations and your support will directly help Cambridgeshire families that are facing a cancer diagnosis.
Thank you.
