We are entering a CBRE team in a Business 5's Charity Event in loving memory of our friend and colleague, Barry Cormie. Barry, 38, suffered a heart attack and collapsed while working at an Aberdeen site on December 21, 2021.
Colleagues from CBRE, called paramedics and performed CPR until their arrival. First on the scene was an air ambulance crew who tried to revive Barry, before he was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and sadly passed away.
Having worked on site since it opened, Barry was an extremely popular member of the team, not only within the CBRE community but also with our client. Barry was a well respected colleague and an extermely dedicated employee.
As an avid sportsman, Barry played football for his school sides and later in Sunday leagues. He would often organise 5-a-side football matches for his colleages, which were often fiercly competitive but always lots of fun.
The Business 5's tournament is a fitting tribute for us to remember Barry as a fantastic friend and colleague. We hope to raise some funds for Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance along the way.
Barry is survived by his sons Forbes, 11, Brodie, 8, his parents Ian and Christine, sister Karen and nephew, Kyle.
