I met the fundraising team from Accord at an event and asked how we can help - they said the Kilt Walk and I jumped in with a YES, then asked what that involved but it was too late to back out and say no! 

They explained that Accord provide palliative and end of life care to people living with, or affected by a life limiting illness in Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire.

They then went on to tell us some stories of the exceptional commitment their staff have to their patients and the support they provide families with, long after their loved ones have gone. They not only support people at their hospice but provide their services both for people in their own homes and within the community and care homes. 

We have since been in to visit the hospice and the facilities are amazing! Every room is so well equipped and designed to allow families to share their time and to provide dignity and independence for patients. 

If that wasn't all enough - they provide this care and their compassionate approach to support patients and their families at no charge, its all free. 

This is why they need people to support them and help raise funds to provide not only the care and facilities but the emotional support and comfort everyone deserves!
