Story
When we decided to do this challenge dad was in the middle of battling against stage four Pancreatic Cancer having only been diagnosed at the start of February 2024. He was given up to 12 months with palliative chemo or up to 6 months without. Unfortunately he became unwell so rapidly he was not fit enough to commence palliative chemo and instead he returned home with amazing support from the Florence Nightingale Hospice at home team. Within 9 weeks PC stole dad from us and he passed away peacefully on 28th April 2024. I never thought we would finish this challenge without him being with us at the end of it.
Pancreatic Cancer is often not detected until it is advanced and more awareness and early detection is required to help save lives.

We’re calling on you to take on the challenge of walking, jogging, and running 60 Miles in memory as a personal challenge or just to raise money for a great cause.
We’re looking forward to bringing together a community of people determined to make a difference to the survival rate of pancreatic cancer. Why? Because every day 26 people die from this disease, and it is only through early diagnosis we can bring that number down, we need your help to do it.
Be part of 60 Miles in April and join a movement to help ensure more people are diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer early and in time for surgery, giving them a much higher chance of survival.
