Story
Our beautiful son Cayden passed away whilst at Great Ormond Street Hospital from a fatal heart condition. Cayden had his first operation at four days old and we were given a further 10 weeks with our wonderful boy by the amazing doctors and nurses who worked tirelessly so we could take him home and be a family. We were able to stay in parent accommodation whilst our baby received care which was hugely important for us and this was due to the fundraising of others.
Keeping Cayden’s memory alive is so important and helps us come to terms with what has happened, it’s our chance to thank the hospital for giving us such precious time with our son. We want other families to receive the immense amounts of support that we received and for children to be given the best chances for survival and recovery. This is why we opened a Brighter Future Fund, to raise money to help give a brighter future to the thousands of other children that need the care of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
We want Cayden's Brighter Future Fund to grow and grow and will be actively funraising thoruhg a variety of ways, the first of which can be seen below..
We completed the 3 peaks Challenge!
In July 2011, along with my father in law Mick Finch, and some of our friends, Neil Simpson and Helen Smith, I completed the 3 peaks challenge in 35 hours, 5 minutes no drama there! We climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland, 1,344 m (4,409 ft), Scafell Pike in England, 978 m (3,209 ft) & Snowdon in Wales, 1,085 m (3,560 ft).
Many thanks to all who donated and achieved such a fantastic result to spur me on. We really have made a difference and it was such an emotional achievement for all involved. Again, thanks! Donations are still open.
