Story
I want to support St. Richards Hospice again who gave my mum dignity, compassion and care during the few last weeks of her life. Without the hospice, I don't know what we would have done or how I would have coped ....
The hospice has to raise over 70% of its own funds to operate, which is why it is SO important to donate and help this facility which is a lifeline in darkest times.
Having run a charity place at the London Marathon in 2016 for St. Richards, I caught the 'running bug' and I went on to run another 3 marathons! But the beginning of 2018, saw me paying the price of pushing a 40+ year body and after qualifying for a uk marathon champiobship place I picked up an injury then another and another...putting me out of action for most of the year.
With a deferred place from the 2018 London Marathon, it got me thinking about the event itself and remembering all the costumes and stories behind the charity places. I wanted to raise money for St. Richards again but having already ran four Marathons, it needed to be more challenging, and worth a sponsorship which is why I am attempting a sub 4 hour Guinness World Record 'Fastest Cavewoman'!
This challenge will be no walk in the park, having been injured and losing all my fitness, awaiting a foot operation ( yes, it hurts, no, I'm not doing more damage) and running in costume holding a 1kg club! Please, please get behind me! Your sponsorship means a great deal to me, the hospice and my mum who I know would have wanted this. Her life was filled with helping others all the time.
Thanks so much for your generosity.
