Story
I'm a serious omnivore. Despite trying to maintain a balanced diet, meat remains dominant. I love a blue steak and have, in my most ravenous states, wished the damn thing was still moving.
Recently, I saw an article about Friends of the Earth's "Meat Free May." I was startled by the statistics about the damage food production causes, especially the environmental impacts. 14.5% of all global greenhouse gas emissions come from meat and dairy production, which is nothing short of insane.
People tend to take the food on their plates for granted. I figure if I'm going to enjoy a juicy burger or trough of meaty chunks, then I should be conscious of the costs and except responsibility for my choices. And who knows? Maybe I'll discover an entirely new and satisfying way of living.
I'm a seller of books and typist of words. There's nothing wrong with your filters, my hair really is that colour.
