Story
In 2004 our wonderful dad/ husband and a truly lovely man sadly passed away from kidney cancer at Glan Clwyd Hospital.
The nurses and staff on Ward 7 were absolutely amazing and made his final time there more comfortable. They were warm, kind, caring and gentle, not only to Dewi but to us as a family as well.
Awyr Las (Blue Sky), the North Wales NHS Charity, gives directly back to the unit and does not take any fees for doing so. Our donations will help fund some of the added extras - big and small - that go above and beyond what the NHS are able to provide, making a real difference for patients and their families when they need it the most.
We wanted to do something drastic not only to raise money, but to raise awareness of kidney cancer. We've lost a husband a dad and dear friend who succeeded in fundraising for numerous cancer charities and local community projects, he would be very proud.
We will also be donating our hair to The Little Princess Trust who provide real hair wigs free of charge to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
We will be in Ruthin on 13th May - come and support us!
