London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

I'm running the London Marathon this year in memory of my friend Cheryl, who died in 2019. Cheryl was the kind of person you felt grateful to know, with seemingly endless energy and who threw herself at life. I miss her gorgeous presence and probably always will.

So, I'm dusting off my running shoes and training from scratch. You may remember I've run the London Marathon before, but (as I've been gleefully told) that was a decade ago! Believe me. I'm the wrong side of fit to be trying this again, but I'll have Cheryl and her family in my thoughts. Plus the fabulous team at St Luke's, who were so great at the end of her life.

It would mean the world to have your support in helping me reach my target.
