Story
I am a runner with Team Pinkel and Winchester & District AC. I love running. I never thought I’d run for charity as it didn’t feel right to ask people to pay for me to do something that I love, but when Nick, our coach, said that Treloar’s had been in touch with an opportunity for runners to fundraise for them it touched my heart.
Treloar’s is a local charity, it’s just a few miles from me in Alton, Hampshire.
Treloar’s enables education for severely disabled young people.
Treloar’s offers teaching, learning, professional care, therapy and guidance so that every individual can live, learn, achieve and work towards a future that is as independent as possible.
- 98% of students are wheelchair users
- 38% have a visual impairment
In 2020 Treloar’s was graded overall “Outstanding” by Ofsted and CQC.
Each year Treloar’s has to raise around £2 million to provide their students with access to the specialist equipment, opportunities and staff that give them the confidence and skills so they can realise their full potential in life.
Thank you for reading. I am very proud to be running for Treloar’s. I appreciate that it has been a difficult year for everyone, so no pressure at all, but if you would like to donate, it would be very much appreciated.
In the meantime I'm having a wardrobe clearout and a tack sale - the horses won't be happy 🐴 😀
