We’ve been improving the lives of those who work or have worked at sea, and their families, for over 100 years. Established in 1917 as The King George's Fund for Sailors, to support the families of seafarers lost at sea during World War One, we support seafarers throughout their career and beyond.

Story

Thankyou for taking the time to visit my page. I am planning on taking part in the 24 Peak Challenge on the 14th & 15th July 2012.  The course involves walking 32.5 miles up and down Mountain Peaks, including Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England. Our target is to reach 24 Peaks in 24 hours, and in total we will be climbing half the ascent of Mount everest!

This is known to be one of the toughest challenges around and requires heaps of self motivation and determination. But, along with my team, I am really excited and in training for the event.

The 24 Peak Challenge raises funds for Sea Farers Uk; a charity that helps and supports people who have become injured whilst at Sea, It also provides help for people from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Merchant Navy and fishing fleets, and their families, in times of need. This could be through a grant to support young people training for a career at sea, funding of new medical equipment for servicemen injured in Afghanistan or financial help for families of those killed at sea.

So as many of you are aware, im studying in Germany at the moment, and planning on doing the event the first weekend I am home, so I wont be able to ask you personally for sponsorship...so please, dig deep and remember every little helps :) LOVE xxxxx
