Story

We believe all girls should have the opportunity to benefit from Girl Scouts programming without the worrying of how to pay their own way. We are asking you to consider donating to the Power Her Promise campaign so all girls have the opportunity to join Girl Scouts and benefit from their programming.

Many of you already know this, but we are a proud Girl Scouts family! Carly and Kaity joined Girl Scouts in 2012 as a 3rd grade Brownie and a 4th grade Junior, respectively. Through opportunities to explore their unique interests and develop critical leadership skills, they have faced challenges, grown in confidence, helped improve their communities, and are planning for a better tomorrow.

They have both earned their Bronze and Silver Awards and are currently working towards earning the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve, becoming a Gold Award Girl Scout. Kaity is currently serving a 3 year term as a National Delegate (alternate) where she will represent Girl Scouts San Diego at the National Convention. She is helping to make changes to Girl Scouts policy at the national level.

Girl Scouting has always been a family affair with Cathy heavily involved at the troop, service unit and council levels; and Jay and Jacob always been “MEN ENOUGH TO BE GIRL SCOUTS” and support in any way they can. The bottom line, we have seen Girl Scouts empower not just Carly and Kaity but hundreds of girls. Every girl deserves to have Girl Scouts in their lives. We are the largest girl-led organization and its benefits are endless.

Girl Scouts San Diego’s dynamic programs are more critical than ever. During this difficult time, we are determined to continue pursuing our important mission through the Power Her Promise campaign. We are using this time to build resiliency, understanding, and courage in the next generation of leaders.

Celebrate the success of Power Her Promise with us at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. Register for this free virtual gathering at sdgirlscouts.org/PowerHerPromise.These girls are our future, and we have the power to make it bright!
