Story
So here we are again. Kerry has managed to persuade me to do the Half Marathon again. We will be walking as we are far too old to run!!
We have decided to try and raise some money for Breast Cancer Care this year. During my treatments they were hugely supportive. They are able to offer peer support to give you someone to talk to when you are scared or worried or confused. You are allocated the same person so you have continuity of care for as long as you need it.
During my chemo I was able to benefit from the Healthy Living Days. When you are feeling low and rough a day of complimentary therapies, lunch, and other women to talk to who have been where you are is very uplifting. I also attended the Younger Women's Forum. This was a weekend with lots of organised sessions attended by women of my age and younger. I made friends there that I still keep in touch with now!!!
I know it seems that everyone wants money for this charity and that, but all of the services offered by Breast Cancer Care (and I have only mentioned a few), make a difference. They helped me get through what was probably the toughest time of my life.
I know you all always support me, and I am very grateful for that. Without these charities and the great work they do, cancer would be much harder to get through. Please give what you can. No amount is too small, and every penny is appreciated.
Thanks again
Cathy and Kerry
