Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We first met Ray Davey in 1971 when Internment was introduced to Northern Ireland and my family fled our housing estate. We were evacuated to the North Antrim Coast. The Corrymeela Community in Ballycastle threw open its doors to us and it was there we met Ray Davey. My Mother was a single parent with seven children, and you can imagine the fear and sense of confusion in us all. Ray Davey and the Corrymeela Community embraced us as family. In the years that followed my Mother (Margaret Mulvenna) became a member of the Community and it became a compass point for our entire family. There was always the risk we would get pulled into the dark side of the troubles because we lived in what was at that time a ghetto. Because of the Corrymeela Community, my Mother's strength and faith, and Ray Davey's ministry, my family emerged from those dark difficult days, and are all in their own special way wonderful people who have raised wonderful families. I will never forget Ray Davey who inspired me my whole life. Ray, if there is a heaven then you are now with Kathleen, the love of your life. I will never forget you.
