Story
Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer and it will touch most of our lives at some point.
My grandmother died from breastcancer at the age of 36, before my mum really had a chance to know her – she didn’t have access to the treatment that is now available. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 65 and thanks to the treatment she received her cancer was treated and my children have a lovely relationship with their grandmother. My wonderful godmother is currently battling cancer which started as breast cancer a few years ago.
This is my first half marathon and will be the furthest distance that I’ve run. I’m raising funds for Cancer Research UK to try and help more people beat cancer and get closer to finding a cure. Cancer research doesn't receive any Government funding for their research work and so is reliant on donations to fund the work that they do.
Please consider supporting my fundraising with whatever you can – everything helps. And know that all your donations will help me complete the 13 miles on 22nd August.
