Story
I am running the Cardiff Half Marathon on the 7th of October 2018, this is a huge personal challenge as if you know me, you know my love of running ....NOT! However I set myself a goal to challenge myself and what better way to do it than for a charity that is close to my heart.
Working for the NSPCC, I know how important the work we do for children and their families in particular across North Wales and how every donation makes a difference.
* Last year our staff and volunteers visited 147 schools and spoke to 12,575 children in North Wales about their right to be happy and safe. With your help over the next 3 years we can visit all 396 schools in North Wales.
* In 2016/17 our Childline volunteers delivered over 295,000 counselling sessions to children and young people.
* We offer face-to-face support at our service centres. We have a service centre in Prestatyn and directly worked with 31 adults and 88 children in 2017/18 delivering our services including Letting the Future In and Protect and Respect.
* But it’s not just about those families who we work with directly. Every time we work with a child or a family, we’re learning how to give them the best support, and gathering evidence so we know how best to tackle child abuse in communities like yours across the UK.
Fighting for every childhood: Every child in North Wales deserves a safe and happy childhood, but we need everyone to play their part.
In fact, we rely on supporters for around 90 per cent of our income. Without them, our work simply wouldn't be possible.
So, every penny will count :-)
Thank you
