Every two minutes in the UK someone has a heart attack, half will die. Over 2.6 million people in the UK are living with heart disease. Every two hours a baby is born with a heart defect ,around half will need treatment or surgery. Seven times as many women die of heart disease than breast cancer.

The British Heart Foundation invest in research, they also help patients recover from heart attacks or surgery, as they provide BHF Nurses to care and support patients. Most of us will either have known someone or lost a loved one, as I have. My dad died in his  50's far too young. Graham's mum has twice had surgery over a period of 20 years and thanks to medical research and life saving treatment she is still with us. I am able to run this half marathon because I have a healthy heart, others are not so lucky. Please help and thank you for your support.
