Story
This crazy idea of mine started after I read the following blog post by the almighty Emily, who has been fundraising for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal for a number of years:

After reading this, I wrote to Emily and I vowed to her that in 2018 I would run a half marathon, so here we are! (Silly me and my silly promises). I also promised to run it for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal which is a charity very close to her heart.
I have followed Emily's story for over ten years now and it is mostly down to her that I got into running. She kept saying "Running is funning" - i'm almost certain that running 13 miles isn't going to be that fun, but I'll give it a darn good go. She inspires me (as much as she hates the 'I' word, she really does) and she motivates me to just get out there and do it. This is what brings me here, to this page and to me entering the Great West Run which will take place on Sunday 14 October 2018.
So many of my friends and family have been affected by cancer and if me running this half marathon can provide some support and help fund cancer charities as well as children's charities then that's a blooming marvellous thing. I will be running for all those affected and they will be very close in my thoughts as I pound the streets and MANY HILLS of my home town.
I am delighted to be joined by one of my best friends, the incredible Alana Copp who will run alongside me. Without her and the support of Heavitree Running Group, I would never have believed I could but now I believe 'I CAN'.
No donation is too big or too small. Anything really will help and I am so grateful to you all.
