Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 31st May 2015 I am going to be running my first ever marathon. Until now thirteen miles is the furthest I have ever run but I have decided to go one (or several,) steps further and take on a marathon.
As an extra incentive to keep putting one foot in front of the other, I will be running in memory of my uncle, Michael Ennis, to raise money for Pendleside Hospice. Michael was a life long sports fanatic! He played sport throughout his whole life and also coached countless young people in the Burnley area. In recent months the family have heard hundreds of stories of how he inspired young people both on and off a sports pitch.
Michael died in December 2014. In his last days and weeks the support given to him and his family by Pendleside Hospice was truly amazing. Every member of the team there treated Michael and the family with a huge amount of warmth, kindness, compassion and respect. The strength and comfort they gave at what was an incredibly difficult time was invaluable.
So I hope to give a little bit back to them by running 26.2 miles in May. By sponsoring me you will not only help to get me out training on the dark cold winter nights, you will also help Pendleside Hospice to continue to do their brilliant work in supporting patients and families when they need it most.
Thank-you!
