Walking the Great Wall of China - Done / Loch Lomond walk 28 March 2010
Hey Everyone
On 3rd of October 2009 I walked along a large part of the Great wall of China in aid of Clic Sargent. I have chosen this charity because of the support they have given to my eldest son Graeme (23yrs) and the family over the past 5 years.
In October 2003, Graeme was diagnosed with a brain tumour, he had to undergo surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Clic Sargent helped him on the road to recovery. Graeme is now a third year student at Glasgow Caledonian University, studying Bio-sciences, he is progressing well and back playing golf. The family are all very proud of him.
With this challenge now complete, I want to continue to raise funds to help other families who are fighting their own life-changing battles. It's about giving something back. In the past,I have ran in 5ks'10ks & half marathon's over the years for many charities, not knowing who or how I was helping anyone. But I am now aware of the impact fundraising has on helping individuals who are less fortunate. I am grateful for any amount you can donate.
I've enjoyed my fundraising events- SWISH, CAR BOOT,BBQ, & ZipSlide across the Clyde. Now I'm doing the Loch Lomond Walk - 7 mile stretch ( a piece of cake) Balmaha to Rowardennan on Sunday 28 March 2010.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC Sargent gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
