Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Terry used to run up and down our road when he was training for his Marathon of Hope. I remember seeing him then and thinking who is that guy, and isn’t he brave…. Running a marathon every day, he made it half way across Canada (more than 5x the distance from John o’Groats to Land’s End) before the cancer came back. He was 22.
His legacy lives on though, with annual runs/walks/bike rides all around the world continuing to raise money for cancer research.
For my part, I plan to participate in the Sussex Downs trail run on Saturday October 2nd. There are two options: 12.5 km or a half marathon. The distance I will go depends on your donations…more than £130 and I will take the long route 🤣
It’s a tough, hilly route, and to be honest I have not done much training for longer distances. And I might end up walking some of it. But I ran 10 miles yesterday and google informs me that therefore I should be able to go the distance. Not sure I should trust google in this instance (google did not see me in a heap at the end) but, with your encouragement, I’ll give it a go… 😁
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, and this run is for them…
