Story
Wac Arts is based in Belsize Park, north London. I got to know it through Liz Cleaver, who is the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Wac Arts offers inclusive access to the arts for people who face the worst barriers to participation. The open creative environment encourages social cohesion and helps people to overcome the hurdles that would otherwise hinder their progress. For over 40 years, Wac Arts has offered a year round accessible programme of performing arts classes and media training for young people aged 5-30 and their families. They deliver out-of-hours and residential care support including activities for young people with Special Educational Needs and other disabilities. It's a place where a very wide range of people feel able to express themselves, get involved and realise their potential.
