Story
In 2020 I wrote this here on my JustGiving page: "At first I thought I'd do an online reading of A Christmas Carol to try and make myself some money! As an actress COVID-19 has meant that all the work I had was cancelled. But, as I re-read this glorious story with that in mind, I quickly realised that this would be wrong and, if I could, I should try and raise as much money as possible for a charity. CRISIS seemed the perfect fit.
So, please do go to my YouTube channel -
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4lU2g6HeWeJbEWAgUHSBkg?view_as=subscriber
where, on December 1st, I will upload the first chapter, read in 4 parts. You can donate now - and then, if you enjoy what you see, you could always donate again!"
This year I've been contacted by various people, from all walks of life, telling me that they've now made watching/listening to this one of their Christmas traditions and rather than just be flattered (which I am!) I thought maybe, just maybe, we could raise some funds for Crisis again.
I shall put updates on my Mastodon page http://mastodon.world/@CatherineRussell2 (yes, I've flown the nest) plus a new Christmas poem or two, so please do check that out. And here is King John's Christmas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKyBKqR4gVs
Last time the goal was set at £10,000 (you ended up donating £13,000!) but I feel that maybe that target is too much given the financial difficulties that many of us find ourselves in this year. I'm hoping we can reach £3,000 and, who knows, maybe more.
With Love.
