Story

In 2019, 94 runners united to complete the world-famous Virgin Money London Marathon course, raising over £304,000 to date. 2020 will see the 40th edition of the event take place, and I will be running the famous 26.2 miles for The Brain Tumour Charity.

I know what it's like to lose all hope and struggle to come to terms with a diagnosis of cancer. In the summer of 2016, I received the crushing diagnosis of a glioblastoma tumour 4 and proceeded to receive weeks of treatment while in hospital. I was desperate to get home and back to my family. I had to teach my legs to walk and I had to train my hands to use a knife and fork again. Following 2 surgeries - one of which I was awake for - weeks of hospital stays, I was finally allowed home. But that wasn't the end. I then had to endure 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy, 6 months of chemotherapy, loss of my hair and the loss of my independence as I was no longer allowed to drive. This independence was only restored in June 2019 when I got my driving licence back.

I don't want all of this to happen to others. So I am doing what I can for that not to happen to too many more people.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the worlds leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, they're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. They're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And they're doing it right now. Because they understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really cant wait.

Please support me - and the charity - by sponsoring however much you can.

Thank you
