Story
TASC, The Ambulance Staff charity is the leading UK charity working to support current and retired Ambulance Services personnel and their families, regardless of role, to enhance their mental and physical well-being during times of need. We offer timely, tailored, often multi-stranded, support to individuals and families, helping them to improve their circumstances. Increasingly, people are turning to us for help with multiple and complex needs; in 2018 the average number of hours of support we gave to each beneficiary was 9.8 hours.
THIS IS WHY WE WANT TO HELP..... Covid-19 has caused devastation throughout our nation, & more often than not the Ambulance Service is first on scene. Our guys & girls face the most horrendous things & the coronavirus is an unwanted add on... Its a hard job without being in the middle of a pandemic. We’ve lost family, friends and colleagues, but still we have to turn up & ‘make things better’ for everyone else.
Sometimes we need somebody to ‘make things better’ for us... TASC gives us that opportunity, but being a charity it’s not always readily available for everyone all of the time, so this is why we need to raise some much needed funds so our colleagues & their families can be rest assured that the support is there for them, if & when needed.
We want to help by doing the only way we know how.. & that’s to walk! We would walk to the ends of the earth for our Ambulance family if needed, but for now we will walk the length of Wales. 300 miles over 46 mountains from Cardiff Castle to Conway Castle. We’ll be doing this alone, unguided, carrying the kit we need. 🥾🎒⛺️
Thank you for supporting us & ours 💚
