On Monday June 1 I shall be setting off on my bike from St.Malo and pedalling to Uzes, down in the south of France, a journey of around 900 miles. I hope the ride will take around four weeks - but I might get there even faster knowing that you are spurring me on by donating to a good cause.  I shall be raising money for those devastated by the Nepal earthquakes. I have a Nepalese friend, Mitra Pariyar, whose family village is near the epicentre. Many of you, I'm sure, have already donated to this cause, but if you felt able to sponsor the cycle trip for just a small amount, it would make the journey very worthwhile. It also means that I shall be less inclined to listen when the saddle sores are urging me to give up!
