Story
Having reached the grand young age of 50 in May this year and given up smoking at the end of January, I have decided do the trek of a lifetime!
In October this year, I shall be spending 18 days in the Himalayas and 14 of those days trekking to the base camp of Everest. I shall be raising money on behalf of Prospect Hospice in memory of my Dad who I lost to cancer 6 years ago. Prospect Hospice looked after him in his final days and the staff there were amazing in his final days
My Dad was a mountaineer in his youth and climbed many of the Swiss Alps with his father. One of the library pictures shows him aged 17 with the Matterhorn in the background. A trek to Everest seems like a very fitting tribute to him and I know it is something he would be truly proud of.
