Great North Run 2011
Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
I have completed the Great North Run!
I came in 31,178th in 2hr 38mins!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and Macmillan!!
Earlier this year, in a moment of madness I decided to take one of the biggest running challenges in the UK...the 2011 Great North Run.
This famous event is now in its 31st year, and will see 54,000 runners (of all skills!) attempt and hopefully complete, 13miles in glorious Gateshead.
I am a beginner! To motivate me through the gruelling training and the event itself, I have decided to run in support of
Macmillan Cancer Support who provide anything from a lift to hospital to specialist medical advice throughout the cancer illness.
I am running particularly in support of the specially trained Macmillan nurses, who carried out daily home visits and expertly tended to my grandad, Sean McCollam, when he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.
If you can spare a few pounds it would be very much appreciated and go to a great cause. Your donations mean a lot to Macmillan, and will really help me through this event.
Thank you!!
Catherine
