On the 19th February 2020 my Fiance Steven Kennedy was tragically killed, suddenly and unexpectedly in a car collision. He was only 33. He was a doting father to our 3 children, Courtney (11), Chloe (10) and Liam(6).
I've been thinking a lot recently what to do for the 1 year anniversary coming up and although this has been the toughest year of our lives I wanted to do something that Steven would be proud of.
For Steven's 30th Birthday I surprised him with a sky dive which he absolutely loved! (Something I would never have done! He always took the mick out of me for not even going on rollercoasters!) However I have decided that I want to go out of my comfort zone and make him proud. So I am doing a tandem skydive with Stevens close cousin Kerrie and we are all set to do it on Saturday 20th February 2021 the day after his 1 year anniversary. Not only do I want to do this in memory of him, but I also want to raise money for a charity that was close to his heart and mines which is CHAS. CHAS has been a massive support to us as a family over the years with our youngest daughter Chloe who has severe complex needs. Chloe attended Rachel house in Kinross over the years for respite from the 24 hour care that she required at home by myself and Steven. If we hadn't had the help from CHAS we wouldn't have been able to enjoy quality family time and days out with our other 2 children, not to mention the well needed rest. They were always a huge support when Chloe was ill in hospital and always there if we needed them for anything. I will never forget how amazing they were when they stepped in and cared for Chloe when our worlds were turned upside down this year.
Steven would never in a million years have thought I would go through with this, but knowing he would be proud is enough to do it and any donations to this wonderful charity would be very much appreciated.
